David Hidden

David Hidden (Baritone) completed the Advanced Diploma of Opera at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2011. Whilst at the Con he appeared in every Opera School production, most notably as Sam in Bernstein's one act opera Trouble in Tahiti (2011), Herr Fluth in Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor by Nicolai and Don Annibale Pistacchio in Donizetti's Il Campanello di Notte (2010).  With Opera Bites, David performed in the 2011 February Festival of Opera at the Taxi Club: miniature versions of four operas (Carmen, Il Barbierie di Siviglia, Le Nozze di Figaro and Madama Butterfly). He also performed at the Undara Outback Experience’s ‘Opera in the Outback’ in Carmen and The Fairy Queen as well as in their Opera in the Pub series in L'elisir d'amore. He has appeared previously at the Parramatta Old Government House with Very Small Opera Company as Pizarro in Fidelio in 2010.  Over the past five years David has also performed with the Sydney Youth Opera, the Itty Bitty Opera Company and Rockdale Opera. He started singing opera with Pacific Opera in 2005 and performed Papageno in Pacific Opera’s Magic Flute in 2011. David also appears regularly as a soloist with various choirs around Sydney and was a soloist with the SSO under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy in 2011. In 2012 David performed the role of Father in Hansel and Gretel for OzOpera's School's Company.
