Opera . . . in a pub?  You heard right!  Opera Bites brings best-loved opera hits to the relaxed atmosphere of your local pub.

Opera Bites has partnered with The Harold in Glebe to bring you the world’s favourite opera highlights in the relaxed environs of a great local pub.  

​Tickets are $45 + booking fee and include a 90-minute, fully costumed show, upstairs at The Harold.  Show starts at 7.30 pm. 

 

Fabulous  food and drinks  are available  for separate purchase at the venue.  HAPPY HOUR from 5-7pm.  All day kitchen open till 10pm for pre-, mid- or post-show dining.

Tuesday 7th May - 7.30 pm:  "Opera Goes to the Movies"  - THIS EVENT HAS SOLD OUT!

Back by popular demand! Our most requested show of 2023.  Your favourite films and opera's greatest hits - what could make for a better night out?  From The Ride of the Valkyries in Apocalypse Now to the Pearl Fishers Duet in Gallipoli or the Barcarolle in Life is Beautiful, opera's heightened emotions and divine tunes have provided the soundtrack to some of film's most dramatic moments.  Join us in the comfort of this great local pub as we explore some of opera's most sublime music as seen on the big screen.

Tuesday 4th June - 7.30 pm:  "The A - Z of Opera"

From Alfredo to Zaide, Alfano to Zelimsky, Alberta to Zagreb, opera covers every letter of the alphabet – characters, composers, theatres and more. Come and enjoy favourites you know and love from some of the world’s best loved operas and discover new favourites from some lesser-known gems! Along the way, in typical Opera Bites style laugh at interesting alphabet-related opera trivia and anecdotes which you can then drop into conversation to wow your friends and impress your workmates!
