Samanta Lestavel

Samanta Lestavel (Soprano) has recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, under the tuition of Stephen Yalouris. She is currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Music (Opera Performance), also at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Samanta has gained extensive operatic stage experience since her orchestral debut in 2015 as Angelina in Rockdale Opera’s Trial By Jury.  She has performed the principal roles of Despina (Mozart: Cosi Fan Tutte), Lucy (Menotti: The Telephone), Mary Crawford (Jonathan Dove: Mansfield Park, Australian premiere) and Patience in Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience, working with Operantics, Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Sydney, Rockdale Opera, Sydney Opera Projects, Phoenix Choir Blackheath, and the Penrith Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Paul Terracini. Most recently, Samanta has been highly praised for her portrayal of Calisto in Francesco Cavalli’s La Calisto with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s Early Music Ensemble, conducted by Neal Perez da Costa.

Samanta looks forward to portraying three more of Mozart’s leading ladies in 2017; Zerlina in Opera Hunter’s Don Giovanni, Blondchen in Opera Bites’ Die Entführung aus dem Serail, and Pamina in the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s Die Zauberflöte.
